ELA Focus Skills: Counting, Fine Motor Skills, Following Directions, Phonological Awareness (Rhythm and Repetition)
Tell children that you are going to teach them a chant about The Three Little Javelinas.
- Hold up three fingers on one hand. Say, Each finger is a little javelina.
- Recite “Three Javelinas” and do the finger motions.
- Recite the chant again and invite children to join in.
Three Javelinas
Three javelinas move to someplace new. (hold up three fingers)
One builds with tumbleweeds, and then there were two. (lower one finger)
Two javelinas singing just for fun. (hold up two fingers)
One builds with cactus sticks, and then there was one. (lower one finger)
One javelina bakes adobe in the sun, (hold up one fingers)
