Tell children you are going to teach them a rhyme with many words that begin with /t/. Say, Listen for the /t/ sound in this rhyme game called “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear.”

Explain to children that they will pretend to be teddy bears. As you demonstrate, model some of the rhyme movements.

Recite the rhyme and do the motions with children. Then ask, Which words began with the /t/ sound? Recite the rhyme again. Each time children hear the /t/ sound, have them tap their heads.
