Skill Focus: Fine Motor Skills, Letter Formation, Letter Recognition, Vocabulary
Display the letter “Yy” card. Trace over both the lowercase and uppercase “Yy” with your fingers. Then demonstrate how to make the letter “Yy” with the materials. Trace the three lines of the uppercase letter as you say, One straight line, two straight lines, three straight lines. “Yy” has all straight lines. What materials do you think you should use to make the straight lines? Why? Have children continue to review letters they have learned. (“Cc”) Give children individual support as needed.
