Take a walk around the room with children to look at and talk about the structures they have been building. Ask, What do you notice about the size of the structures? Why are they different sizes? Have children talk about the reasons they built the houses, who or what they built them for, and what tools and materials they used. Have children explain how they built the houses to fit different things. Encourage children to talk about how they compared the sizes of things, measured, and cut to fit to build their houses. Ask children if they wonder how to build other structures using the same materials. What other materials might they use to build? What other things might they make houses for?
