Have children watch the Between the Lions show “Huff and Puff.” For this viewing, have children watch the bonus track: “The Wolfinator: A Sequel.” Before watching, explain that Lionel decided to write his own The Three Little Pigs sequel.

  • Pause the DVD during the bonus track to explain the meaning of unfamiliar terms, such as mega huff and puff power pumps.
  • Pause the DVD when the Wolfinator approaches the pig’s brick house. Ask, Do you think the Wolfinator can blow down the brick house? Why or why not?
  • After viewing, talk about Lionel’s sequel with children. Talk to children about how the book they’re reading this week, Tell the Truth, B. B. Wolf, is a sequel to the The Three Little Pigs story too.
  • Encourage children to compare the sequels. Ask, How are the sequels the same? How are they different? Where does Leona’s sequel take place? Where does Lionel’s sequel take place?

English Language Learners: During the video, you may wish to turn off the volume so English Language Learners can better concentrate on the written words and the actions.
