Hardware Store
Skill Focus: Imaginative Play, Vocabulary
Set up a pretend hardware store with tools and building materials displayed in boxes or on tables. Make signs or labels for the tools and other building materials. Talk with children about what tools are needed to build things. Encourage children to think about something they might want to build and encourage them to plan a list of things they will need to “buy” to build it.
