Skill Focus: Hand-Eye Coordination, Letter Formation, Letter Recognition, Vocabulary

Invite children to make the word seed with blocks. You may want to help children sketch large outlines of the letters on paper for reference as they work. Ask questions such as,

  • What blocks do you think you will use to go around the curves?
  • How do you think you will build the long straight line of the “E”?

Help children use curved blocks (arches) or make curves from small square blocks for the letters “Ss” and “Ee.”
