Tell children that they are going to watch PEEP and the Big Wide World “Peep Plants a Seed” again. Encourage active viewing by pausing and having children recognize how the steps Peep takes in planting his seed are similar to the steps they took in planting their seed.
After viewing ask questions such as,
- What do you think Peep will do with the seeds from his sunflower?
- What things did Peep do to take care of his sunflower that we can do to take care of our sunflower seeds?
- What would you do with sunflower seeds if you had them? (Eat them, feed them to birds, plant them)
Educator Tip: You may wish to have some toasted sunflower seeds available at snack time for children.
