Choose a favorite book about plants. Have children make connections to the book by asking questions such as,
- How are the plants in this book like the plants you have been exploring? How are they different?
- How was this book like the other books we read this week, Jack’s Garden and The Flower Garden?
- Did you notice anything in the book that you observed this week in your plants?
Have children discuss what they learned from the book. Record any new ideas on the “Plants All Around” chart. Ask children,
- What did you read about in this book that you already knew?
- What new information did you find out about plants from listening to this book?
