Choose a favorite book about plants or a book from the recommended list. You may want to choose a nonfiction book for this activity.
- Do a picture walk and ask children to identify plants they know.
- Point to parts of plants and ask them to name the parts.
- Encourage them to use the terms roots, leaves, and stems in their responses.
