Look at and discuss children’s artwork, writing, and charts displayed around the room. Talk about what children did and learned this week, including their work in the Learning Centers. Display the read-aloud books from the week. Review with children some of the things they learned. Say,

  • We learned that worms live underground and that they help plants meet their needs. Who can tell me what worms do underground?
  • We measured our plants again this week. Tell me how your plants have changed.
  • We learned about basic needs plants and all living things have. Tell me where plants get their basic needs met.
  • We talked about vegetable gardens. Who can name a vegetable that has seeds inside it?
  • We also learned about the letter “Ww” and we talked about words like worm. Tell me another word that begins with the letter “Ww.” Now tell me another word that begins with the /w/ sound like in worm. Tell me, who has a letter “Ww” in their name?

Read aloud the “Plants All Around” chart and acknowledge all the things children have learned about plants.

Invite children to sing their favorite plant song or recite their favorite plant poem.
