Invite children to create a worm puppet theater. Show children how to make worm puppets with socks. Have them place a hand in a sock and make a mouth by pushing the toe of the sock in the space between their thumb and four fingers held together. Ask, What do you think worms might say to each other as they dig their tunnels? Pretend you are a worm and you want something to eat. What would you say? Pretend you are playing hide and seek with your friends. What would you do? What would you say?

Children can perform their plays from behind a puppet theater or a table or divider turned on its side. Help children make a sign announcing the performance. Children can also make and “sell” tickets to the show.
