ELA Focus Skills: Follow Directions, Name Recognition, Phonological Awareness (Rhythm and Repetition)
Give children their name cards. Then tell children you are going to sing a new song today called “Look Who Came to School Today.” Say, When you hear me sing your name, I want you to hold up your name card.
Then explain that the group will sing that child’s name when you raise both your hands. Say, Then we will all sing the last line together: “We’re so glad she/he did.”
Repeat until all children have been recognized.
