Review the Week Together: Unit 8, Week 3
Display the read-aloud books Bee-bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park and A Fruit Is a Suitcase for Seeds by Jean Richards. Look at and praise children’s artwork, writing, and charts displayed around the room. Talk about what children did and learned this week, including their work in the Learning Centers. For example, say,
- We read a book about fruits and seeds. Tell me why a fruit is like a suitcase for a seed.
- We learned that we eat foods from different parts of a plant. Tell me one plant food you like and what part of the plant is comes from.
- We visited a grocery store to explore the fruits and vegetables. What kinds of fruits and vegetables did you see at the grocery store?
- We observed our plants’ growth. Tell me one change you observed in one of your plants.
- We also learned about the letter “Aa” and we talked about words like apple. Tell me another word that begins with the letter “Aa.” Now tell me another word that begins with the short /a/ sound like in apple.
Let children choose a favorite rhyme or song from the week to recite or sing together.
