ELA Focus Skills: Name Recognition, Phonological Awareness (Rhythm and Repetition)
Tell children you are going to sing a greeting song. Explain that each time you sing a verse, you will point to four different names on the name chart. Say, If I point to your name, I want you to say your name back to me.
Sing “Here We Are Together.” Point to a child’s name and look directly at him or her as you sing the name. Wait for each child to repeat his or her name before moving on. Invite children to sing the song with you.
