ELA Focus Skills: Name Recognition, Phonological Awareness (Rhythm and Repetition)
Tell children you are going to sing the song “Here We Are Together” again. Explain that this time you will hold up four different name cards each time you sing. Say, If I hold up your name card, I want you to point to your name on the name chart and say your name out loud.
Sing “Here We Are Together.” Hold up a child’s name card and look directly at him or her as you sing the name. Wait for each child to point to and call out his or her name before moving on. Invite children to sing the song with you.
