Skill Focus: Concepts of Print, Letter Recognition, Vocabulary

Remind children that we use water every day. Say, Let’s make a list of all the different ways we can use water. Ask, How do we use water? What is your favorite way to use water? Record children’s responses.

Invite children to draw pictures showing their favorite ways of using water. Then help them write captions or short descriptions about their drawings.

If children wish, compile the pictures to make a book titled We All Use Water. Place it in the Library Center so classmates can “read” how everyone uses water.
