Before You Watch
Tell children they will be watching a short clip about the letter “Yy,” Between the Lions “Word Morph: yell–yellow–yo-yo.”
Remind children how to make their arms into a "y" shape by putting their forearms together and spreading out their hands. Practice with children.
As You Watch
Play the video and have children look for the “y” in each word. Say, Every time you see the letter "y" on the screen, make a "y" shape with your arms.
After You Watch
Hold up “Yy” word cards and say, This time, when you see me hold up a card with the letter "y," make a letter "y" with your arms again.
