Review the Week Together: Unit 9, Week 3
Display the read-aloud book Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen. Look at and praise children’s artwork and writing displayed around the room. Then talk about what children did and learned this week, including their work in the Centers. For example:
- This week you learned about things that float and things that sink. Share some things that float and some things that sink.
- You saw a PEEP and the Big Wide World show called “Fish Museum.” What were some things that sank in the Fish Museum?
- We tested objects to find out whether they would float or sink. Then we explored how much weight a boat could hold and still float. What boats could hold the most weight? Why?
- You also reviewed the letter “Bb” and talked about words like boat. Say another word that begins with the letter “Bb.” Now say another word that begins with the /b/ sound like in boat.
Let children choose a favorite rhyme or song from the week to recite or sing together.
