Display the read-aloud books All the Water in the World by George Ella Lyon, Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash by Sara Weeks, and Ten Clean Pigs/Ten Dirty Pigs by Carol Roth. Look at and acknowledge children’s artwork, writing, and charts displayed around the room. Then talk about what children did and learned this week, including their work in the Learning Centers. For example, say,

  • We saw a Between the Lions show and read a book called Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash. What happened when Mrs. McNosh hung the wet things on the clothesline?
  • We painted pictures with water outside. What happened to the pictures we painted?
  • We explored water drops this week. Tell me something you did with water drops.
  • We also reviewed the letter “Uu” and talked about the word up. Tell me another word that begins with the letter “Uu.”
  • Now tell me a word that begins with the /u/ sound like in up.

Let children choose a favorite rhyme or song from the week to recite or sing together.
