Read aloud Red Is a Dragon by Roseanne Thong to individuals or small groups.
- As you read each page, have children point to and identify the objects and describe the color of each object.
- There will be many words in the story that are unfamiliar to children, so allow them the opportunity to ask about unfamiliar words as you read. Point to each picture as you define the word. Then, encourage children to read as many words as possible with you.
- Then, invite children to use the illustrations to help them “read” the story to you.
