Display photographs of friends for children to see as you continue the discussion about friends. Begin the discussion by asking children,

  • Can you tell me about a friend of yours? What is his or her name?
  • What is something you like about your friend <friend's name>?
  • What things do you like to do with your friend <friend's name>?

Encourage children to talk about any new friendships they may have developed at school this week, and about how they are being a good friend.

Revisit the “Being a Good Friend” chart and have children add things they did that show they were a good friend to someone this week.
