Look at and discuss children’s artwork, writing, and charts displayed around the room. Review:

  • Work childen did in the Learning Centers
  • Read-aloud books from the week
  • Things children learned about families and friends.

Draw attention to the charts and artwork displayed around the room.

  • Revisit the list of things children like to do with their families. Encourage them offer one more thing they like to do with a member of their family.
  • Revisit the “Being a Good Friend” chart. Discuss how many things children have learned about friends this week.
  • Congratulate children on being good friends while exploring and sharing new things they learned.
  • Have children take turns telling which was their favorite activity this week and why.
  • Talk about how children felt when their <family member> brought them to school on the first day. Ask them if they felt same way when your <family member> brought you to school today. Then remind children how Peep felt about Tom the cat before he met him and say, Now that you know more about school you might feel different when your <family member> brings you each day. Now you know you know you will be learning new things and working and playing with new friends.

Invite children to take turns naming their favorite activity from the week and to share what they liked about the activity.

Have children choose a favorite song about families or friends to sing together as a group.
