Watch Together: “At the Library (A–Z)” (BTL clip)
Before You Watch
Tell children they are going to watch the video clip Between the Lions “At the Library (A–Z).”
Explain that the video takes place in the library and is about things in the library that start with different letters of the alphabet. Give children a viewing focus by having them look for things in the video library that they see in the Library Center or at their neighborhood library.
As You Watch
For the first viewing, focus on words that are familiar to children. Pause on words and images that children have discussed (librarian, library, fiction, etc.) Point to the word and have children repeat it.
After You Watch
Ask children to name some things they saw in the video that they see in their own libraries.
Take It Further: Play the video a second time and have children focus on the letters of the alphabet. Have children repeat each letter as it appears on the screen.
