Help children play the interactive online game PEEP and the Big Wide World “Where’s Quack?” Have children take turns finding Quack.

  • Ask children to join Peep as he counts down (“3-2-1. Ready or not here I …”).
  • Say, Listen carefully to Quack’s voice.
  • Ask, Is his voice loud or soft? Do you think he is close by or far away? Why do you think that?
  • Do sounds that are closer sound louder or softer?

Help children make connections to their own explorations.

Ask children how the game is similar to when they went outdoors to find animal sounds. Ask, How did you find where the animal sound was coming from? How can you find where Quack is hiding?
