Skill Focus: Creative Expression, Fine Motor Skills

Have children draw pictures about their favorite sounds—what object makes the sound, where they might hear it, how they feel when they hear it.

Ask questions about their drawings, such as,

  • Can you tell me what is the source of the sound?
  • Why do you think the sound is loud or soft?
  • Tell me why that sound is your favorite.

Write what children tell you under or alongside their picture.
