Have children stand and form a circle and give each child one of the following letter cards: “Nn,” “Oo,” “Qq,” or “Ss.”
- Have children repeat the letter names with you.
- Then sing and do the motions to the song “Alphabet Hokey Pokey.”
Alphabet Hokey Pokey
(Have children letter cards and move them in and out of the circle.)
You put your <call out a letter> in,
You put your <call out a letter> out,
You put your <call out a letter> in,
And you shake them all about.
You do the hokey pokey (hold hands up, wiggle fingers and hips)
And you turn yourself around, (turn around in place)
And that’s what it’s all about! (clap hands)
