Discuss the instruments, how to play them, and the sounds they make. Then invite children to sing, dance, and play along with recordings of children’s songs. Invite children to form their own band, like Violet in the book Violet’s Music, and play original songs as well. Encourage children to name and talk about the different musical instruments in their band. Toy animals and dolls can be singers, dancers, or the audience.
