ELA Focus Skills: Phonological Awareness (Rhyme and Repetition)
Have children sit together in a circle. Have rubber band instruments available. Tell children you are going to sing a song that includes all of their names. Say, As I sing your name, I want you to pluck your rubber band instrument. Then tell them to all join in the plucking as you sing the last line of each verse. Continue until all children have had a chance to pluck their instrument when their name is sung.
