Review the Week Together: Unit 4, Week 1
Revisit the charts from the week. Have children talk about some of the ideas listed on the charts. Encourage them to make the sounds and identify sounds as you review. Have children change the pitch and volume and describe how they are making each.
Reread and act out Violet in the Crib with rubber band guitars. Track print as you read to remind children where to start reading and the direction you go, sweeping back at the end of each line.
Display various objects or pictures (some that begin with the /m/ sound and some that begin with other sounds). Hold up the letter “Mm” card and the music word card. Remind children that music starts with the /m/ sound. Hold up an object or picture, say its name emphasizing the first letter, (for example, mask, mitten, mirror, mouse, money, microphone) and ask, Does this begin with the /m/ sound?
Look at and praise children’s artwork, writing, and charts around the room. Talk about things learned in the centers.
