Skill Focus: Fine Motor Skills, Letter Recognition
Have children press uppercase “J” and lowercase “j” molds into the sand. As they work, talk with children about the features of the uppercase and lowercase letters. Encourage them to make each letter with their fingers in the sand. You made the lowercase letter “j.” Can you show me the letter “j” on the alphabet chart? On the letter card?
Repeat the activity using the letter “Ll.”
