ELA Focus Skills: Listening and Speaking, Vocabulary
Discuss with children the different ways they used tubes to change sounds. Talk about some of the observations they made while listening through tubes. Ask review questions such as,
- What happened to the sound when you covered one end of the tube?
- What happened when you moved the tube away from your ear? Did you hear a different sound?
- Were the sounds different when you listened through the cardboard tube and the plastic tube?
Tell children that today they are going to continue to explore with tubes, only this time they will talk and sing through the tubes.
Social Emotional Tip: Explain the importance of not shouting through the tube when you are near another person. Ask, Why do you think it is important not to shout through the tube?
