Review the concepts about sound by rereading one of the books of the week or choose a book from the Recommended Books and Media section of the Unit Overview. (Squeak, Rumble, Whomp, Whomp, Whomp by Wynton Marsalis is a particularly good selection for this purpose.)

Discuss the sounds and musical instruments featured in the book. Ask questions such as,

  • Do you think that sound is high sound? Low sound? Why?
  • What musical instrument do you think this is? What kinds of sounds does it make?
