ELA Focus Skills: Active Viewing, Letter Recognition
Tell children that they will watch a short video clip about the letter “Ii.” Show Between the Lions “What’s Your Name? (i).”
- Review the differences between uppercase and lowercase “Ii.” (uppercase is big; lowercase is little, with a dot) Then give children a viewing focus. Say, Tell me when you see the letter “Ii” on the screen. Tell me whether it is a lowercase or uppercase “Ii.”
- Show the video a second time. This time have children repeat the names.
