Spicy Hot Colors #3 (BTL show)
Skill Focus: Active Viewing, Color Recognition, Sorting, Vocabulary
Play the Between the Lions video "Spicy Hot Colors" for children, and ask them to repeat the color words they hear in the video.
After viewing, ask, What different shades of orange did you see in the video? Encourage children to respond using vocabulary such as dark and light.
Return to specific frames of the video and point to and talk about the shades of each color. Then have children look around the room for objects of the same colors and gather them to put on a table.
Place all the objects on the table and identify which one is the lightest shade and which one is the darkest shade of the color. Continue with other colors that appear in the video.
