Discuss the different types of music children have heard over the past few weeks. Play some of the recordings played earlier as well as some new pieces of music. Ask children, What kind of music would you like to play tomorrow for our Music Day?
Encourage children to think about the rubber band instruments, tube instruments, and drums they made. Have children practice describing their instruments and how they are played so they can share the information with visitors. Say, Can you tell me how you make different sounds on the rubber band guitar? Have children explore and discuss what music they want to play at Music Day. Ask, Do you want to play fast music or slow music? Why? You may want to record children’s descriptions and sounds.
