Have children make a color card. You may choose to send the card home with children or place in their individual portfolios.

Show children the front cover of the card. Help them write the title “I Love Colors” on the cover.

Then have children draw a picture using as many colors as possible.

Open the card. On the inside, help children write, “My favorite color is               .” Then have them draw something that is their favorite color on the inside of the card.

Encourage children to use and talk about different shades of color in their drawings.
