Have children sit in a circle. Place the name cards face down in the middle of the circle. Tell children you are going to sing the song and when you get to the third verse you are going to turn over two name cards. Say, Then together we will all sing the last two lines to those two children.

  • Then have the two children whose names were pulled come to the middle of the circle and turn over one name each.
  • Sing to those two children and continue until all children have had a chance to turn over a name card.

The More We Get Together
(sung to the tune of “Have You Ever Seen a Lassie?”)
The more we get together,
Together, together.
The more we get together,
The happier we’ll be.

For your friends are my friends,
And my friends are your friends.
The more we get together,
The happier we’ll be.

Here’s <child’s name> and <child’s name>,
And <child’s name> and <child’s name>,
Here’s <child’s name> and <child’s name>,
And <child’s name> and <child’s name>.
The more we get together,
The happier we’ll be.
