- charts and children’s drawings from the week
- read-aloud books from the week
Review the Week Together: Unit 5, Week 2
Display the read-aloud books Roll, Slope, Slide: A Book About Ramps by Michael Dahl and Roller Coaster by Marla Frazee. Look at and acknowledge children’s artwork, writing, and charts displayed around the room. Then talk about what children did and learned this week, including their work in the centers. Say,
- This week we continued to learn about ramps and built ramps and trackways out of different materials. Tell me something you know about rolling objects down a ramp or trackway.
- You know ramps are tools. Tell me how a ramp helps make work easier for people.
- Tell me how you build a trackway.
- Tell me what you did to your trackway to make sure objects rolled all the way to the bottom.
- We also learned about the letter “Uu” and we talked about words like up. Tell me another word that begins with the letter “Uu.” Now tell me another word that begins with the /u/ sound like in up.
- Let children choose a favorite rhyme or song from the week to recite or sing together.
