Give each child an outline of the uppercase letter “H” to decorate. Invite children to draw a design or to draw or glue pictures of /h/ objects inside the outline. Suggest that children may want to include some colorful “H” shapes as well.
As children work, ask them to trace the letter outline with their fingers. Talk about the designs and encourage descriptions of the name and shape of the letter. Ask children to name any /h/ objects they used to decorate their letters.
