Getting Started
This week children continue to learn about seeds and plants as they visit a plant farm and look inside fruit to find seeds. Children will:
- Observe and record changes in the seeds and bulbs they planted in Week 1
- Use nonstandard measuring tools to measure the growth of their plants
- Create a bar graph to watch the growth of their plants
- Listen to the read-aloud books Jack’s Garden by Henry Cole and Flower Garden by Eve Bunting to reinforce their learning about how seeds grow
- Revisit the show PEEP and the Big Wide World “Peep Plants a Seed” and make connections to their own seed-planting explorations
- Be introduced to the letter “Gg,” the letter sound /g/, and the word garden
