Learning Goals

STEM

Children will:

  • Learn about exploring and observing things in their environment
  • Understand that scientists are explorers who ask questions about the world, make observations, do experiments, and collect data to find answers
  • Compare and contrast items
  • Describe similarities and differences

ELA

Children will:

  • Learn to make connections between their lives and stories (Comprehension)
  • Listen to rhyming words (Phonological Awareness)
  • Listen to stories read aloud (Listening and Speaking)
  • Begin to partake in active viewing (Listening and Speaking)
  • Listen to, develop an understanding of meaning, and use new concept vocabulary words including alphabet, communicate, explore, family, friends, information, and observe (Vocabulary)

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL

Children will:

  • Describe family members and the role each member plays in families 
  • Recognize and describe family similarities and differences
  • Begin to understand the qualities of friendship
  • Recognize and describe emotions such as happiness, fear, and sadness
