Children will:

  • Continue to understand that all living things have basic needs
  • Continue to explore plant growth and what plants need to survive and grow
  • Continue to explore the parts of plants and identify parts including roots, stems, and leaves
  • Compare and contrast parts of plants
  • Observe and compare indoor and outdoor plants and their parts
  • Create graphs to track plant growth
  • Record their observations in their science notebooks and share them in discussion

ELA

Children will:

  • Recognize, match, and form uppercase and lowercase “Kk” (Alphabet Awareness)
  • Identify the first letter (“Kk”) in context of a word (kitchen) (Alphabet Awareness)
  • Identify beginning sounds in words and produce words with the same beginning sound (/k/) (Phonological Awareness)
  • Repeat alliterative sentences (Phonological Awareness)
  • Engage in active viewing and listening (Listening and Speaking)
