Getting Started
This week, children continue to learn about plants we eat. Children will:
- Explore, taste, and compare fruits and vegetables
- Learn that we eat foods that come from different parts of a plant (roots, stems, leaves, seeds)
- Learn how seeds travel from one place to another
- Sort and graph seeds
- Listen to the read-aloud story Bee-bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park and watch the Between the Lions video of the same name to learn about a Korean dish made with lots of vegetables and rice
- Listen to the read-aloud book A Fruit Is a Suitcase for Seeds by Jean Richards to follow how seeds travel in different ways from one place to another
- Be introduced to the letter “Aa,” the letter sound short /a/, and the word apple
