Letter Sort “Aa”

Have children sort and distinguish letter shapes to recognize the shape of the target letter, “Aa.”

Traveling Seeds

Have children explore how seeds travel by covering a sheet of paper with paint and glue and blowing the dandelion seeds onto their papers to see how seeds travel and spread out.

Fruit and Vegetable Stamping

Have children press a fruit or vegetable into paint and then press it on a piece of paper.

Aisles of Fruits and Vegetables

Have children use blocks to build fruit and vegetable aisles of a grocery store and then go shopping in the aisles.

Encourage children to select books that interest them and to look at the words and pictures on their own or with other children.

One-on-One Reading: A Fruit Is a Suitcase for Seeds

Read aloud A Fruit is a Suitcase for Seeds to individuals or small groups. Have children point out fruits or vegetables they like and identify how they travel.

Fruit and Vegetable Patterns

Have children make patterns with slices of fruits and vegetables.

Math Chefs

Have children measure and cut specified numbers of clay fruit pieces to make a clay fruit salad.

Letter Molds (“Aa”)

Have children press uppercase and lowercase “Aa” molds into the sand. Encourage them to make the letters with their fingers in the sand.

Play "Hide and Peep" #2 (PEEP game)

Have children continue to play PEEP and the Big Wide World “Hide and Peep” and work together to find the hidden characters.

Our Vegetable Soup
