Children (3 - 5 years)

The positive, encouraging, and nurturing relationships your child has with family members and friends help her feel secure and confident as she begins to have experiences outside your home. Your child may insist that she wants to “do it on her own” but it’s your love and support that allows her to make these independent leaps.

Your child begins to form her own identity and trust when she interacts with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members. Through family, she learns about the values, traditions, and language that you hold dear.

As your child enters school she will have more experiences out of the home. These experiences will help her build skills, such as how to share, how to take turns, and how to show respect for and appreciate similarities and differences in people.
