Unit 2: Colors All Around

Hold up a name card and sing a greeting song to help each child recognize his or her name in print.

Have children choose and describe a favorite color and graph them on a chart.

Have children explore mixing paints to make different shades of color.

Have children sort and group shades of color.

Call out a color and have children find an object around the room.

Have children match colors dots on a page to colors in a photograph.

Have children mix paints in clear sealable bags to observe how light and dark shades of a color are mixed.
